12 Years Of Google

We are all used to seeing Google’s homepage logo change throughout the year, depending on what event is being staged at that time. It could be a logo at Halloween, Christmas, Father’s Day,New Year. But today its their own occasion, we will see an image of a “Birthday Cake”. This is to celebrate Google’s 12th Anniversary.

There has been a little confusion as to exactly when Google’s birth date is? In the past the search engine has celebrated on September 7, and although its domain was officially registered on September 15 1997, reports have suggested that today, September 27, is the day that we can show our appreciation for Google.

The huge search engine serves as an information and advertising service to millions of users each day, and since its release, the site has now added Gmail e-mail software, social networking tools and Orkut. As well as this, Google have extended its service to the desktop with applications such as “Google Chrome” web browser, “Picasa” photo software and “Google Talk Instant Messaging”.

It also ventured into Smartphone OS Market With its 'Android' which is 2nd in the market already, the list goes on and its sure that there is lots more to come, So lets hope Google keeps us saying 'Wow!' forever.

Happy 12th Birthday to Google!
